The VDLC represents 60,000 workers from over 100 affiliated unions in our community

Chair of Vancouver & District Labour Council ARC

Our Vision:

VDLC acknowledges the underlying title and inherent rights of self-determination of Indigenous peoples, that we are present in the traditional and unceded territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, and that decolonization lies at the heart of anti-racism.  VDLC Anti-racism committee (ARC) will support and advance the goals of anti-racist education, organization and collective action for the betterment of workers and our communities. The VDLC ARC will be an important link between Indigenous peoples, racialized workers, activists, unions and organizations in the region we serve. Collective action must be mobilized in solidarity against racism to combat divisions among workers that weaken our collective struggle and end the marginalization and hyper-exploitation of non-white workers. VDLC ARC will take actions that lead to meaningful change, leading to stronger, more inclusive and more dynamic unions at the heart of our communities.
